Europe 1993.

AFTER GETTING MARRIED THERE IN 1992, WE RETURNED TO ITALY THE FOLLOWING YEAR WITH MY FATHER, AND ALSO VISITED FRIENDS IN GERMANY.

ITALY AGAIN. This is us on the steps of the Campidoglio where we got married in 1992. We walked up these steps to get to the hall where the ceremony happened. At least the weather was sunnier this time around.  BACK - WITH BIGGER SUNGLASSES THIS TIME.
MORE STEPS. The majority of nice, non-step pics were stolen along with our laptop PC in 2001, so the only ones that we've got left are those of us standing on steps. These are the Spanish Steps, or Piazza Di Spagna. We spent our honeymoon night in a beautiful hotel just here, overlooking Rome's premier shopping street, the Via Dei Condotti.

My Dad came to Europe on his way back from visiting his family in the USA. This was his first overseas trip and we made sure that we took him to see all the best-known historical sites in the city, as well as Pompeii, which really chuffed him because he studied them all at Architectural School.

Germany Again...

FREIBURG

IN KARLSRHUE

BACK IN BLACK. After that, Laetitia and I went to Germany for a week to see her friends Regina and Reinhardt who live in Karlsruhe. We hadn't been in the country since our time in the Black Forest (Schwartzwald) villages of Kreuz and Neustadt at the end of 1988. After that, we headed south to the Black Forest town of Freiburg where Laetitia'd gone to High School for the best part of a year). A few days were whiled away visiting castles and things, hanging out and generally doing nothing of significant note. Freiburg is a lovely town and it's really worth spending time in the laked forests. Lots of time...

Just the way a holiday should be...

Back to reality.

After a very nice two weeks, it was back to the grindstone in East London for the rest of 1993.
