DECEMBER 2003 - So this is Christmas...

While we ignore the need to do any real Christmas shopping, we DO take the trouble to get a card onto the site (here it is).

Plus, my Dad pops over from S.A for a surprise visit and spends some time actually OUTSIDE LONDON for the first time in his life.

BATH. We took him to spend a day in Bath, where his architectural training (that's what he is) drove him from one notable building to another. He had a  brilliant time in the cathedrals and, naturally, in the Roman ruins which mark the spot where the famous Baths themselves stood when this town was known by its original Roman name Aquae Sulis.

BATH ROYAL CRESCENT. This is one of the most famous buildings in the city, and stands as a symbol of sorts for the place. Overall, not too cosy a place to live - a bit barren for my tastes - but the earth is what you pay for a place here.
